“I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”

Historically, Jesus used the other one to wipe his butt...

I am with you. ... sheltering you from the coldness of fear and discouragement. ... You can trust and not be afraid, for I am your Strength and Song. My powerful presence is with you always. You face nothing alone! ... I have promised to strengthen you and help you.

It just keeps going, one sentence after another: Jesus is always with you.

It's always about Jesus being there and never about the disappointment when he doesn't show. God is great, unless they're not, then (hands waving) “God's plan”. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

Today's page reads like some sort of self-hypnosis or “manifesting”. If you just say it enough, believe it enough, then you can wish it into being.

Some Christians seem to believe that simply being Christian makes them interesting or special, and that Jesus would never abandon them (like he does all the indigenous, black, and brown children).

At some point in childhood I probably would have self-identified as Christian, indoctrinated before the age of reason (seems legit). I've seen some shit. Jesus wasn't there. Maybe I wasn't Jesus-ing properly and you're doing it right. I hope you don't have to test this theory...

People are special and worth helping intrinsically... not just because they might play for your team. Interacting with evangelicals is an exercise in objectification, people are just meat to bring to Jesus.
